I met Alan through Dave Hundley from No Clubs Productions. Alan hired me to promote an event at the Labor Temple (now the main ballroom) on Guavaween in 1992. This event would draw attention to the opening of the Castle. At the time the Castle was just the downstairs saloon and only his second bar.
We became friends and spent many nights drawing club layouts on napkins and discussing themes over drinks.
Fast forward. My roommate at the time is DJ Jask, now a resident at the Hyde Park Cafe.
Alan had me promote Thursday nights at the Castle with Jask. The first DJ night. It was a success so I left my day job (sort of) to be here as often as possible. I designed and helped to install all of the lighting, sound and video systems. I now deal with all special events, the tech stuff, some marketing and most complaints.
